Pommard 1er cru « Les Arvelets »

The Pommard appellation covers 320 ha and since medieval times has been recognized as “la fleur des vins du Beaunois” (the quintessence among the Beaune wines ) and  is synonymous with long-life, rich and fragrant wines.

*AOC (appellation d’origine contrôlée): Pommard 1er cru (red wine)

*Soil: thin top layer consisting in alluvial and silt deposits on a hard limestone base

*Orientation: south on a 7 to10 percent slope

*Taste: its south orientation is compensated by the well-aired location at the entrance to the Grande Combe: this gives black fruit aromas with some sap notes, both subtle and delicate wines

*Our favourite: roast pork with a mustard and honey dressing
